The Orchestra welcomes new members to its string section, and will also gladly hear from advanced oboe, bassoon, horn, trumpet and trombone players.

Please email us urgently on faltus@seznam.cz for more information, letting us know of their orchestral experience. It is necessary to let us know well before the first rehearsal, so that we can email you music in advance.

Our first rehearsal with new players will be on 8 October at 7.30 p.m. at Vencovskeho aula. Rehearsals are normally held weekly on Wednesdays. Further, two weekend workshops will be held this semester, 18-19 October and 8-9 November – attendance at both of these is essential.

Major concerts will be held in November and December, and the main works are the Verdi Requiem, Wagner Siegfried-Idyll, Prokofiev Classical Symphony, the Jakub Jan Ryba Christmas Mass, and shorter pieces by Tchaikovsky and Kander. Rehearsals are held in English.

We regret that we are unable to provide instruments or advise on their hire. We ask you please to bring your own music stand, and to print out the music that will be sent to you electronically.​
